We are pleased to now offer auricular acupuncture as an integrative treatment option for patients experiencing stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.

Auricular acupuncture is a safe, gentle procedure that involves placing 5–6 tiny needles in each ear to promote relaxation and help calm the nervous system. The treatment typically lasts 20–30 minutes and is designed to complement your existing mental health care plan.



For patients who are sensitive to needles, topical numbing medication is available, although many patients find the procedure causes little to no discomfort. If you have a fear of needles, ear seeds (small adhesive seeds placed on the ear) may be used as an alternative.

Some patients experience improvement after just one or two treatments, while others may benefit from up to four weekly sessions, depending on their individual needs.

Auricular acupuncture is provided by Dr. Mahkameh Tracy at our MedNOW Greenwood Village location. Dr. Tracy received specialized training in integrative mental health approaches during her fellowship at the University of Arizona and is passionate about offering evidence-informed treatments that help patients improve their overall mental well-being.
